Just fitted the rear (AVO) damper kit to a 74 A-series and the top eye of the damper sits in the position vacated by the spacer for the bolt taking the check-strap - the check strap is no longer needed and you might need to encourage the long bolt to come free and also ease the gap for the spacer to come out. the top eye of the damper is offset just about half-way across the depth of the top eye. Please don't think to mod one yourself unless you are excellent at welding, bearing in mind this is a high pressure vessel...Replacement damper/spring bracket with the damper holes facing down from the spring, the upper hole is for standard ride-height and the lower are for lowered spring profiles.
Make a BIG difference over the rather tired armstrongs.
