1275 engine rebuild
I have finally manage to start the dismantling process for my rebuild of a 1275 A series engine. I have had the engine for nearly a year now, so no rush!
The engine is a completely unknown quantity, but is intact. The plan is to rebuild with the following spec, maximum overbore, plus 60thou to give 1330cc, compression ratio of 10.5:1.
I am limiting the valve sizes to standard to keep the car eligible for class 2 in the Luffield sprint championship, and have acquired a fully ported 11 stud head, wasted neck valves and shortened valve guides.
I haven't decided on cam yet, but I plan on having a rev band of 2500 - 6000rpm as I use the car a lot on the road and don't want to have anything too peaky.
The whole assembly will be balanced and the flywheel lightened.
I think that's about it, so i will keep posting updates as I make any progress!
Any suggestions or advice more than welcome, especially people living with this sort of spec engine.
